The following graphic provides an example of what an email message will look like when viewed through the Direct Read Email interface. This area is described in greater detail below, and if you have any questions about the Direct Read Email interface that cannot be answered by these Help pages, please contact support@newsguy.com.

 Toolbar Help Tips:

Subject: This references the title of the email message.

From: This indicates the name and/or email address of the person that sent the message.

Date: A message's date and time stamp will appear in this section.

Message Body: The actual email message will appear in this area, and is located below the blue divider line that's displayed in the above mentioned example graphic.

File Attachments: If someone has sent you a file attachment (photo, video clip, music, etc.) Direct Read Email can display that file in a few different ways, which are described in further detail below:

  • Decode / Preview - Direct Read Email will attempt to automatically decode and preview multimedia files directly within the message body. As an example, if someone has emailed you a photo, when you open that message Direct Read Email will decode and display the photo in your web browser.

  • Decode / Link - Direct Read Email will automatically decode file attachments in this mode, but instead of previewing multimedia files, the interface will place an interactive link within the message body. If you wanted to preview the file attachment, you would simply click the link. In order to switch to this mode, you would need to visit your Direct Read Mail Preferences and de-select the "Display Image in Mail" option.

  • Encoded Data - This link will appear in the Direct Read Email toolbar, and it allows you to convert decoded file attachments to their original encoded state.
