The following Direct Read Email toolbar appears within each of your individual mailboxes (In, Out, Save, and Trash). This toolbar offers a number of features and tools, which you may find helpful. The individual toolbar features are discussed in greater detail below, and if you should have any questions about the Direct Read Email interface that cannot be answered by these Help pages, please contact support@newsguy.com.

 

 Toolbar Help Tips:

Go: This pull-down menu offers a number of "View" and "Transfer" options, and you would simply select an option from the menu and click "Go" to execute the request. 

  • Viewing Newsguy Email Boxes - Several options in the "Go" menu allow you to view messages within different areas of your Newsguy email account (In, Out, Save, and Trash box). As an example, if you were looking at messages within your "Trash" box, and wanted to look at the messages in your "In" box, you would select "View In Box" from the menu, and click "Go" to jump to that specific box.

  • Viewing Outside Email Boxes - Direct Read Mail also allows you to check and view messages from up to 3 different POP email accounts that you maintain. As an example, if you have an ISP email account, a work email account, and a Hotmail email account, you could set Direct Read Mail to retrieve messages from all three of those accounts, as well as your Newsguy email account. Simply go to your Direct Read Mail Preferences, locate the settings area titled "Checking Multiple Email Accounts", and click the "Edit" link to specify each of the POP email accounts you'd like to retrieve messages from. Once you've setup your additional email accounts, they will appear as a "View" option within the "Go" menu, and you can modify or delete them from your preferences area at any time.

  • Transfer Options - The "Transfer" options in the "Go" menu offer a quick way to transfer one or more messages from one mailbox to another (In, Out, Save, and Trash). As an example, if there were three messages within your "In" box that you wanted to transfer to your "Save" box, you would simply select those three messages within the "In" box, select "Transfer to Save" from the pull-down menu, and then click "Go" to complete the transfer. This menu also includes an "Empty Trash" option which will permanently delete any messages that appear within your "Trash" box.

Check Email: This toolbar button will check for new incoming email messages.

New Message: When this button is selected, a web form will appear that will let you create and send a new email message or a reply email message to someone. Aside from constructing your message from this page, you will also be able to check the spelling within your message, and attach binary (photos, sound, etc.) or document files to your message. Preferences: This toolbar button transfers you to an area where you can configure your personal email settings and setup nicknames/address books. You can also set additional options such as automatic mail check, and mail alerts.

Email Filters: Newsguy's Direct Read Mail interface provides easy to configure junk email filters, that enable members to filter incoming email they do not wish to receive, in a variety of different ways This toolbar button will take you to the main "Filter" setup page.
