Mobile Protest Converges on Washington
D.C. Monuments
Targets D.C. monuments, political
correctness and disconnected government
Washington, D.C. (October 29, 2010) –
Inspired by the upcoming midterm
elections, a small Internet company
made a big statement about the
Obama administration on October 25th
when it drove a billboard-size
political cartoon through the streets of
Washington D.C.
“We provide access to the largest
Internet discussion network, a global
online community that advocates
uncensored speech. Unfortunately, candid
communications in the offline world have
been replaced with bias and political
correctness.” says NewsGuy’s CEO, Cindy
Kimball. “On October 25th
we traveled to the nation’s capital
to express our displeasure with the
current administration. If the positive
response to our billboard is any
indication, other Americans share a
similar dissatisfaction with our
country’s leadership.”
Illustrated by award winning political
cartoonist Eric Allie, the mobile
protest piece started its 9 hour tour of
Washington D.C at 11 am, stopping at
various landmarks such as the White
House, Lincoln Memorial, Iwo Jima and
the Capitol Building. Between 4 pm and
8pm the rolling exhibit traveled to a
taping of the “Jon Stewart Show” at
Sidney Harman Hall, and concluded its journey in the K Street area.
“There is a growing disconnect between
our government and the public it
serves.” states Ms. Kimball “Elected
leaders enjoy one-way communications
through managed media vehicles, leaving
constituents to observe the dialog and
political process from the sidelines.
If our story inspires one person to vote
on November 2nd, regardless of their
political affiliation, our effort was
not in vain."
